Jesus did all things well
(mark 7:31-37)

Introduction:

         1. On this occasion Jesus performed one of His great miracles by healing a man who suffered from
             deafness and a speech impediment.
         2. Those who observed this miracle concluded: "Jesus did all things well."
         3. This is the theme of our lesson as we seek to grow in our knowledge of the Lord -- "Jesus did all things
             well."

Discussion:

I.           JESUS  DID  ALL  THINGS  WELL  AT  THE  CREATION

         A. Although all members of the Godhead were present, Christ created everything.
             1. John 1:1-3, 14
             2. Colossians 1:16
         B. When Creation was completed, the condition of everything was "very good" (Genesis 1:31; 2:1).
         C. In addition to doing all things well at the Creation, . . .

II.          JESUS  DID  ALL  THINGS  WELL  DURING  HIS  MINISTRY

         A. According to Matthew 4:23; 9:35, the Lord's work consisted of 2 main activities.
             1. One activity was teaching and preaching.
             2. The other activity was healing.
         B. When He taught and preached, Jesus did all things well.
             1. Consider the response of those who heard His Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 7:28-29).
             2. Also, consider the response of the officers who were sent to take the Lord into custody
                 (John 7:32, 45-46).
         C. When He healed people, Jesus did all things well.
             1. We learn from Matthew 14:34-36 that the sick people who touched His garment "were made perfectly
                 whole."
             2. Jesus healed a woman who could not be cured by doctors (Luke 8:43-44).
         D. Jesus knew that His time to accomplish His mission was limited (John 9:4), so He worked diligently and
             did all things well.
         E. By doing all things well, the Father stated that He was "well pleased" in His Son (Matthew 3:16-17; 17:1-5).
         F. For our last point, . . .

III.         JESUS  DID  ALL  THINGS  WELL  WHEN  HE  DIED  FOR  OUR  SINS

         A. When something is done well, it only has to be done once.
         B. Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would suffer "for our sins" (Isaiah 53:5, 12).
         C. Jesus revealed what He came to accomplish in Matthew 20:28; 26:27-28.
         D. Jesus finished His mission (John 19:28-30).
         E. In finishing His mission, Jesus died for our sins "once."
             1. Romans 6:10
             2. Hebrews 7:26-27; 9:12, 26, 28; 10:10
             3. 1 Peter 3:18
         F. Jesus tells us how to receive the forgiveness that He provided when He offered Himself as a sacrifice for
             our sins (Mark 16:15-16).

Conclusion:

         1. We have seen that "Jesus did all things well."
         2. As His people, let us follow His example.
             a. Galatians 6:9
             b. 2 Thessalonians 3:13
             c. Hebrews 13:16
             d. James 2:8
