1. The apostle John recorded a great amount of information in his Gospel that will help us to grow in the knowledge of Christ as we are instructed in 2 Peter 3:18. 2. The work that Jesus accomplished during His ministry is summarized in passages such as Matthew 9:35. 3. John's Gospel provides a number of details concerning the Lord's travels. a. Jesus had been in the area where John was baptizing (1:28). b. He went to Galilee (1:43). c. In Galilee, He went to Cana (2:1) and Capernaum (2:12). d. He went to Jerusalem (2:13). e. He went into "the land of Judea" (3:22). f. He left Judea to go to Galilee (4:3). g. He traveled through Samaria (4:4). 4. As Jesus traveled from place to place, He interacted with many people and performed many miracles. a. The reactions of people who interacted with the Lord and their statements teach us about His identity (1:34, 40-41, 49; 4:39-42). b. The Lord's miracles led many to believe on Him (2:11, 23; 3:1-2). 5. In this lesson we are studying the information recorded in John 4:43-54. 6. A. A nobleman had a son who was very sick at Capernaum. B. The nobleman asked Jesus to go to Capernaum and heal his son. C. Jesus healed the man's son without going to him. D. The nobleman and his household became believers. E. This was the Lord's second miracle in Cana of Galilee. F. Let us remember why John recorded this miracle (John 20:30-31).
