The Gospel of john
(Lesson 17)

Introduction:

         1. A careful study of the Gospel of John will help us to grow in our knowledge of Christ as we are instructed
             in 2 Peter 3:18.
         2. We have observed how people reacted to the Lord in various ways.
         3. Let us keep in mind several principles that John revealed as he began his Gospel, and he illustrated them
             many times throughout his book.
             a. Jesus brought light, but the darkness did not comprehend (1:1-5, 10).
             b. Some people received Jesus, and some did not (1:11-13).
             c. People should have listened to John the Baptist (1:6-8, 29-34).
             d. Jesus had much to say about His identity, but many did not understand.
         4. In ch.7 John wrote about events that occurred in connection with the feast of tabernacles.
         5. According to vs.1-31, people reacted to the Lord in various ways.
         6. In this lesson we are covering the information presented in John 7:32-53.
