the scriptures explain why jesus was made flesh (john 1:14)
Introduction:
1. John began his Gospel by introducing "the Word" as a member of the eternal Godhead (vs.1-3). 2. As John continued he identified "the Word" as Jesus, and John stated in vs.14 that Jesus, a member of the eternal Godhead, was made flesh. 3. Keep in mind that some false teachers in the 1st century denied that Jesus came in the flesh (1 John 4:1-3). 4. This brings us to our lesson -- in addition to declaring that Jesus came to earth as a man, "the Scriptures explain why Jesus was made flesh." Discussion: I.
