IN HIS WRITINGS JOHN EMPHASIZED THE FACT THAT "THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH"

A. Genesis 3:15 is the first prophecy. 1. God was punishing the serpent for his role in the first sin. 2. Prior to this there was no need for Jesus to come in the flesh. 3. According to Matthew 2:1-6, Jesus was born in Bethlehem. 1. The location of Jesus' birth was determined from Micah 5:2. 2. We learn from Luke 2:1-7 why Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem. D. He now is at the Father's right hand where He serves as our Savior, mediator, advocate, High Priest, and the head of His church. 3. He invites us to come to Him to receive the blessings that He provides (Matthew 11:28-30).
