1. According to Psalm 85:6, God's people need to be revived on an ongoing basis. 2. One of the keys to revival is found in Psalm 85:8: "I will hear what God the Lord will speak." 3. The Scriptures contain a number of great themes that need to be studied regularly. 4. We are beginning a series of lessons in which we will examine 13 of these "great themes of the Bible." 5. As we consider information relating to these themes, let us allow God to revive us. 6. The first great theme we are covering is: "God Is Our Creator."

I. THE SCRIPTURES EMPHASIZE THE FACT THAT GOD IS THE CREATOR
A. Several passages refer to God as "Creator." 1. (Isaiah 40:28) He is called "the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth." 2. (1 Peter 4:19) He is called "a faithful Creator." B. God's creative power is declared in Genesis 1:1. C. The details of God's Creation are revealed in Genesis 1:3-31. 1. Day 1: God created light (vs.3-5). 2. Day 2: God created the firmament (vs.6-8). 3. Day 3: God created the seas, dry land, and plant life (vs.9-13). 4. Day 4: God created the sun, the moon, and the stars (vs.14-19). 5. Day 5: God created birds and marine life (vs.20-23). 6. Day 6: God created land animals and man (vs.24-31). D. Faith enables us to understand how God created everything (Hebrews 11:3; Romans 10:17). E. In Psalm 19:1-6 David presented evidence to show that God is Creator.
II. THE SCRIPTURES EMPHASIZE THE FACT THAT GOD CREATED MAN
A. God is referred to as man's Creator in Ecclesiastes 12:1. B. The details of God's creation of man and woman are given in Genesis 2:7, 18-24. C. Jesus endorsed the Genesis account of man's creation (Mark 10:6).
III. OUR STUDY OF GOD'S CREATION SHOULD CAUSE US TO BE REVIVED
A. God deserves to be praised because of His Creation (Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 148:1-5). B. God deserves to be praised because of His creation of man today (Psalm 139:13-16). C. Have you taken the time today to reflect upon the fact that God is our Creator?
