Responsibilities That Relate
to the third abiding subject

(romans 13:8-10)

Introduction:

         1. In 1 Corinthians 13:13, three abiding subjects are listed.
         2. The third abiding subject [love] is the greatest.
         3. This morning we pointed out 7 reasons why love is so great.
         4. According to Romans 13:8-10, love is a comprehensive commandment -- it sums up many individual
responsibilities that God has given to His people.
         5. In our lesson we are pointing out from the Bible 7 of our responsibilities that relate to love.

Discussion:

I.           FIRST,  WE  ARE  TO  DO  EVERYTHING  WITH  LOVE  (1 Corinthians 16:14)

II.          SECOND,  LOVE  IS  TO  BE  THE  MOTIVATION  FOR  OUR  SERVICE

         A. 1 Corinthians 13:3
         B. Galatians 5:13-14

III.         THIRD,  LOVE  IS  TO  BE  FOUND  IN  THE  HOME

         A. Husbands are to love their wives (Ephesians 5:25-28).
         B. Wives are to love their husbands and children (Titus 2:4).

IV.         FOURTH,  WE  ARE  TO  THINK  ON  THINGS  THAT  ARE  "LOVELY"

         A. Philippians 4:8
         B. Proverbs 23:7

V.          FIFTH,  WE  ARE  TO  "LET  BROTHERLY  LOVE  CONTINUE"  (Hebrews 13:1)

VI.         SIXTH,  WE  ARE  TO  "LOVE  ONE  ANOTHER  WITH  A  PURE  HEART  FERVENTLY"  (1 Peter 1:22)

VII.        SEVENTH,  OUR  LOVE  IS  TO  BE  ACTIVE  (1 John 3:18)

Conclusion:
         1. The Bible states that love is the greatest, and it shows why this is the case.
         2. Because love is so great, we must fulfill our responsibilities that relate to it.
         3. Let us fulfill them to the best of our ability.
