Centuries before our Lord came to earth in the flesh Job asked a question that relates to life after death -- "If a man die, shall he live again?" 4. A. Jesus stated His belief in the Scriptures in Matthew 5:17-18. B. Let us consider several passages: 1. 2 Samuel 12:18-23 2. Isaiah 26:19 3. Daniel 12:2. C. Jesus was able to answer Job's question because He believed the Scriptures. D. Many people do not believe in life after death. E. Later we will see that those who do not believe in the afterlife are guilty of not knowing the Scriptures. F. In addition to believing that there is life after death, Jesus believed: 1. in the Genesis account of Creation 2. that marriage is for one man and one woman 3. in the Biblical account of the flood, including Noah and the ark 4. that God destroyed Sodom 5. that Jonah was in the whale's belly for 3 days. A. Jesus taught that the dead will be raised (John 5:25). B. Jesus taught that the dead will be raised "at the last day" (John 6:39-40, 44, 54). C. Jesus taught that the dead will be raised prior to the judgment that will occur when He returns (John 5:28-29). D. Jesus taught that the dead will be raised by predicting His own resurrection (Matthew 17:22-23; Isaiah 53:9-10). E. Jesus taught that the dead will be raised when He answered the question asked by the Sadducees (Matthew 22:23-32). Conclusion:
