Paul Could Do All Things through Christ
(Philippians 4:13)

Introduction:

         1. The apostle Paul made this statement in his letter to the church in Philippi.
         2. As he made this statement Paul revealed the source of his strength -- Christ.
         3. In our lesson we are examining 4 things that Paul did through Christ.

Discussion:

I.           THROUGH  CHRIST  PAUL  OVERCAME  HIS  PAST  (1 Timothy 1:12-17)

         A. Saul was present when Stephen was stoned (Acts 7:57-58; 8:1a).
         B. Saul abused Christians (Acts 8:3; 9:1-2).
         C. Saul was taught how to have his sins washed away (Acts 22:16).
         D. Saul complied with these instructions (Acts 9:18).
         E. Saul's reputation followed him for a time (Acts 9:26).
         F. Through the Lord Saul overcame (Acts 9:27-28).

II.          THROUGH  CHRIST  PAUL  LEARNED  CONTENTMENT  (Philippians 4:10-18)

         A. Paul was in prison when he wrote this letter.
         B. There were times when he had plenty, and there were times when he was in need.
         C. He was grateful to the Christians in Philippi for sending him a gift.
         D. He let them know that he had learned to be content, regardless of the circumstances he faced.

III.         THROUGH  CHRIST  PAUL  WAS  ABLE  TO  ENDURE  HIS  THORN  IN  THE  FLESH
              (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

IV.         THROUGH  CHRIST  PAUL  FACED  DEATH  WITH  GREAT  CONFIDENCE  (2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18)

Conclusion:

         1. These are 4 things that Paul did through Christ.
         2. We must study them because we are to follow his example (Philippians 4:9).
