Jesus Reigns as King of Kings
(1 Timothy 6:13-16)

Introduction:

         1. This morning we showed how Jesus is at the Father's right hand.
         2. At the Father's right hand Jesus intercedes on our behalf, and He serves as our mediator, advocate,
             and High Priest.
         3. This evening we are studying passages that also show how "Jesus reigns as King of kings."

Discussion:

I.           JESUS'  REIGN  AS  KING  OF  KINGS  WAS  PROPHESIED  ON  NUMEROUS  OCCASIONS

         A. Jacob made a significant prophecy when he blessed Judah (Genesis 49:8-10).
         B. A very important prophecy was made about the Lord's reign over His kingdom in Psalm 45:6-7
             (Hebrews 1:8-9).
         C. Isaiah prophesied about Jesus reigning over His kingdom (Isaiah 9:6-7).
         D. The angel Gabriel informed Mary that Jesus would have an everlasting kingdom (Luke 1:26-33).

II.          JESUS  PRESENTLY  REIGNS  AS  KING  OF  KINGS  OVER  HIS  KINGDOM

         A. The Lord's kingdom is a spiritual kingdom (John 18:36).
         B. Jesus reigns over His spiritual kingdom in a special location -- at the right hand of God (1 Peter 3:21-22).
         C. As Jesus reigns over His kingdom at God's right hand,:
             1. He serves as God's spokesman (Hebrews 1:1-3)
             2. He is the head of His church (Ephesians 1:18-23).

III.         JESUS  WILL  REIGN  AS  KING  OF  KINGS  OVER  HIS  KINGDOM  UNTIL  "THE  END"
             (1 Corinthians 15:20-26)

Conclusion:

         1. At the Father's right hand Jesus reigns as King of kings over His kingdom.
         2. We learn from John 3:3-5 how to enter His kingdom.
