1. This morning we showed how Jesus is at the Father's right hand. 2. At the Father's right hand Jesus intercedes on our behalf, and He serves as our mediator, advocate, and High Priest. 3. This evening we are studying passages that also show how "Jesus reigns as King of kings." Discussion: I. JESUS' REIGN AS KING OF KINGS WAS PROPHESIED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS
A. Jacob made a significant prophecy when he blessed Judah (Genesis 49:8-10). B. A very important prophecy was made about the Lord's reign over His kingdom in Psalm 45:6-7 (Hebrews 1:8-9). C. Isaiah prophesied about Jesus reigning over His kingdom (Isaiah 9:6-7). D. The angel Gabriel informed Mary that Jesus would have an everlasting kingdom (Luke 1:26-33). II. JESUS PRESENTLY REIGNS AS KING OF KINGS OVER HIS KINGDOM
A. The Lord's kingdom is a spiritual kingdom (John 18:36). B. Jesus reigns over His spiritual kingdom in a special location -- at the right hand of God (1 Peter 3:21-22). C. As Jesus reigns over His kingdom at God's right hand,: 1. He serves as God's spokesman (Hebrews 1:1-3) 2. He is the head of His church (Ephesians 1:18-23). III. JESUS WILL REIGN AS KING OF KINGS OVER HIS KINGDOM UNTIL "THE END" (1 Corinthians 15:20-26) Conclusion:
1. At the Father's right hand Jesus reigns as King of kings over His kingdom. 2. We learn from John 3:3-5 how to enter His kingdom.
