1. The principle revealed in Romans 8:28 is illustrated many times in the Bible. 2. In this lesson we are examining how all things worked together for good in the life of Moses (Hebrews 11:23-28). 3. From Paul's activities in Ephesus we observed how "trusting God" is essential for all things to work together for our good (Proverbs 3:5-6). 4. Moses' activities illustrate how "faith" also plays an important role. Discussion: I. (vs.23) AS A CHILD, MOSES WAS AFFECTED BY THE FAITH OF HIS PARENTS
A. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, commanded that male Hebrew babies were to be cast into the river (Exodus 1:8-10, 22). B. Moses' parents were not afraid of this command (Exodus 2:1-10). II. (vs.24-28) AS AN ADULT, MOSES WAS AFFECTED BY HIS OWN FAITH
A. (vs.24-27) Moses chose to be associated with God's people rather than the Egyptians. 1. Moses made some difficult decisions. 2. One of his decisions resulted in his leaving Egypt (Exodus 2:11-15). 3. Moses eventually returned to Egypt (Exodus 2:23-25; 3:7-10; 4:18-20). 4. As he made his decisions, Moses demonstrated his faith in that he: a. "had respect unto the recompense of the reward" (vs.26) b. "endured, as seeing Him who is invisible" (vs.27). B. (vs.28) Moses further demonstrated his faith when he kept the Passover (Exodus 12:1-30). Conclusion:
1. Moses was blessed to live a long and rich life (Deuteronomy 34:7). 2. As a result of living by faith, all things worked together for good in Moses' life, and he had a tremendous influence upon his people (Deuteronomy 34:8-12).
