Let Us Remember Certain Things
(Luke 17:32)

Introduction:

         1. In this verse Jesus instructed His disciples to "remember Lot's wife."
             a. When Lot and his family left Sodom, they were given some instructions by the angels (Genesis 19:17).
             b. Lot's wife disobeyed, and she was punished (Genesis 19:26).
             c. The Lord wanted His followers:
                 1) to remember what she did as well as what happened to her
                 2) to avoid the mistake she made (see Luke 9:62).
         2. The Scriptures teach us to remember many things.
         3. In our lesson we are examining 7 of these things.

IV.         LET  US  REMEMBER  THAT  THE  PREACHER  IS  RESPONSIBLE  FOR  HELPING  US  TO
             REMEMBER  THESE  THINGS

         A. 1 Timothy 4:6
         B. 2 Timothy 2:14

V.          LET  US  REMEMBER  TO  DEVELOP  THE  CHRISTIAN  GRACES  WITH  ALL  DILIGENCE
             (2 Peter 1:5-15)

VI.         LET  US  REMEMBER  THE  TEACHING  OF  THE  PROPHETS  AND  APOSTLES  CONCERNING
             THE  LORD'S  RETURN  (2 Peter 3:1-14; Jude 17)

VII.        LET  US  REMEMBER  HOW  MANY  OF  THE  ISRAELITES  FELL  (Jude 5)

Conclusion:

         1. We will be blessed as a result of keeping these things in our memories.
         2. How can we remember them?
         3. Some helpful instructions are given in James 1:21-25.
